May 30, 2004 Today marks the first day of the Mississippi American Legion Boys State program. Approximately 250 of Mississippi’s young leaders arrived today to experience a week that they will never forget. The delegates will meet friends and contacts that will last for the rest of their lives in addition to learning about Mississippi’s state and local government, politics and the legal system. Upon arrival, delegates immediately began discussing their strategies for the upcoming week with regards to athletics and city competitions. Campaigning for the upcoming elections is apparent with the walls of the Co-Lin campus covered in campaign paraphernalia. It looks as though this will be another top notch group of candidates and staff to ensure that Mississippi’s Boy’s State will remain amongst the best in the country. 2004 Boys State Elected Officials Governor Michael Sipp Lt.
